1. Universal principles.
1. The designed switching power adapter should work as far as possible under the maximum duty cycle Dmax.
2. For AC 85~265V wide voltage range input, the induced voltage Uor of the primary winding should be as high as possible, which can be selected in the range of 100~135V to ensure that the high frequency transformer can transmit enough energy when the AC input voltage is 85V .
Second, specific principles.
1. Primary side circuit.
A) Increasing the inductance (Lp) of the primary winding can make the high-frequency transformer work in continuous mode. At this time, the power loss of the monolithic switching power supply adapter and the high-frequency transformer is relatively low.
b) If a negative temperature coefficient thermistor (NTCR) is connected in series with the input terminal to limit the current when the cold machine is started, it should work as hot as possible (ie, low resistance) to reduce The power consumption of the thermistor. The index of the rectifier bridge should leave enough margin, and its nominal rectifier current must be greater than the rated current value in order to reduce energy loss.
C) To correctly estimate the capacity of the input filter capacitor, when the AC input is 85~265V, the output power per watt corresponds to the capacity of 3uF, that is, the proportional coefficient is 3uF/W. The proportional coefficient is 1uF/W when the AC 230V fixed voltage is input.
D) In order to improve the efficiency of the power adapter and reduce costs, low-power switching power supply chips should be selected.
2. High frequency transformer.
A) In order to reduce the loss caused by the skin effect on the winding wire, it is recommended to use multiple strands to wind the secondary winding.
B) Choose low-loss magnetic core material, appropriate shape and correct winding method to minimize leakage inductance. When the installation space permits, choosing a larger size core will help reduce core loss.
Third, the secondary side circuit.
1. The nominal current of the selected output rectifier is at least 3 times the typical value of continuous output current. It is recommended to use Schottky diodes with low forward conduction voltage and extremely short reverse recovery time.
2. In continuous mode, the nominal value of AC current on the output filter capacitor of the switching power supply adapter should be 1.5~2 times the pulsating current.
